Shivani Rajasekhar, elder daughter of actor Rajasekhar, is all set to make her debut in films in the Tamil industry. Born in a family with film background, the actress has honing her skills in acting and singing since her childhood. The actress spoke with a leading daily and confirmed that she would be making her debut in a Tamil film. However, she did not reveal much details about the film.
“Details of the project will be announced soon. But I’ve prepared for this my whole life. I’ve learned Bharathanatiyam and Kuchipudi, as well as music instruments such as keyboard, guitar and veena,” said Shivani who is a well-known face in Tamil film circles.
Shivani’s father, Rajasekhar, has acted in more than 75 films in Tamil and Telugu but his major hits have been in Telugu. Films like Allari Priyudu, Ankusham, Talambralu, Shrutilayalu, Aahuti, Magaadu, Anna and Omkaram among others. He is known for his intense acting and was a top actor in the 1990s.
Popular actor Sai Kumar dubbed for Rajasekhar in most of his films and the duo is still known for their combination. Sai Kumar’s vigorous voice and Rajasekhar’s intense acting was a deadly combination in the 90s and made them a super-hit formula for filmmakers back then.
Shivani’s mother, Jeevitha Rajasekhar, has also acted and directed in many films in Tamil and Telugu. A lesser known fact is that Rajasekhar and Jeevitha run a school in Hyderabad which imparts non-commercialized education to students. The school is affiliated to the actors’ trust, Dr. Rajasekhar Charitable Trust.
