Tollywood actress Charmme Kaur appeared before the investigating officials of the SIT in conection with the drugs case on Wednesday in Hyderabad. The actress arrived at the Excise Department office in Hyderabad at around 10 AM after being served notice by the Special Investigation Team (SIT) after finding few contact details of the actress on the phone of Calvin Mascarenhas, who was arrested by the police some time back for drug-peddling in Hyderabad.
Charmme Kaur is one of the 12 celebrities who were served notice to appear before the officials in connection with the drugs case. Charmme had, earlier, filed a write petition in the High Court objecting to the collection of blood samples by the officials after the questioning session.
The High Court, on Tuesday, directed the SIT officials to not compel the actress to give her blod samples but rejected her other point in petition which was allowing to have her lawyer accompany her during the questioning session.
While Puri Jagannadh, Shyam K Naidu and art director Chinna had no problems giving their blood, nail and hair samples to the officials, actor Navdeep, who also appeared before the officials for questioning, declined to give his blood sampled to the investigating officials.
Details of what were these celebrities are being asked and what kind of analysis have the investigating officials are making out of the answers is not yet revealed by the SIT. Led by Akun Sabharwal, the Excise Department sent out to notices to many celebrities in Telugu film industry in connection with the drugs case which includes Ravi Teja, Puri Jagannadh, Tarun Kumar, Navdeep, Charmme and Subaraju among others.
