Actress Padmapriya all set to return to Telugu cinema

If you are a fan of the popular Malayalam actress Padmapriya then we have some awesome news in store for you. In an exciting development, the actress is all set to return to Telugu cinema after a gap of nearly seven years. According to a leading daily, she will be seen playing the role of a confident NRI doctor in ‘Patel SIR’. Confirming the same, director Vasu said that she will be playing the role of Jagapathy Babu’s love interest in the film.

“Patel S.I.R is an action thriller with an emotional backdrop. Padmapriya is the leading lady, named Raji. Her character is that of a stylish NRI doctor and she is the love interest of Jagapathy Babu’s character. That’s all I can say about her role at the moment,” he added.

In case did not know, Padmapriya was last seen in a Telugu film in 2010 when she essayed the lead role in ‘Andari Bandhuvaya’. Directed by Chanddra Siddhartha, it opened to an underwhelming response at the ticket window. However, it managed to bag the Akkineni award for best home viewing feature, nonetheless. Besides Padmapriya, it featured Sharwanand in the lead. The supporting cast included names such as Krishna Bhagwan, Surya and MS Narayana.

As far as ‘Patel SIR’ is concerned, it is likely to create a buzz amongst fans as it features Jagapathy Babu in a fierce new avatar. Confirming this, a source revealed that he will be sporting a stylish new look in the film.

“He also sports a stylish look, and is quite aggressive in nature,” he adds. He is undergoing an interesting transformation for the film to play the role,”  the source added.
