During a recent chat with a leading website, director Sankalp Reddy revealed that Bollywood actor Aditi Rao Hydari is likely to play the female lead opposite Varun Tej in his yet-to-be-titled space film. However, at the same time, he said that that the lady has not signed the dotted line yet.
“She’s yet to sign on the dotted line. I’m currently in Mumbai and once I go back to Hyderabad I want to close it. Hopefully, by this weekend we would’ve signed her,” he added.
The director also added that the film is likely to begin in April and things are on track.
“We’re all set to begin shooting from April, provided there’s no delay in the completion of set work,” he added.
Interestingly, Aditi has been on a roll on a roll of late. At present, she has Chekka Chivantha Vaanam and Sammohanam in her kitty. Chekka Chivantha Vaanam is touted to be a drama and is being directed by Mani Ratnam. The film also features STR, Jyothika and Arvind Swami in key roles. While talking about the film, she had told a daily that she considers it to be a blessing to be working with Mani again.
“Another film with Mani sir is a blessing. While shooting for Kaatru Veliyidai, I was living my childhood dream of working with my favourite director. It was surreal and thrilling at the same time. It had been such an enriching experience that I got hooked to his style and discipline of filmmaking. I just can’t wait for the schedule of the film to kick off,” she had added.
As far as Sammohanam is concerned, it is her maiden Telugu film and is being directed by Mohankrishna. While talking about it, she had told a leading daily that she was ‘privileged’ to be a part of the film
