Akhil Akkineni’s HELLO which released during Christmas of 2017 turned out to be a decent hit and brought his career to a shape he would have wished for. After a disastrous start to his career with AKHIL, the young Akkineni lad was looking to get back in the race and Hello seemed like just the medicine the doctor ordered for. Directed by Vikram K Kumar, HELLO had Akhil in the role of a young man who is in search of his love interest, played by Kalyani Priyadarshan, who he would have parted ways when they were kids. The film fared decently at the box office too, much to the relief of Akhil and the makers. Much is being spoken about his next film which is yet to be confirmed by the young actor. However, reports are doing rounds that Akhil Akkineni will next team up with director Siva Koratala who is currently busy with Mahesh Babu’s Bharath Ane Nenu. Siva Kortala is known for making films with a subtle message and a bit of balanced action and emotion, which was witnessed in all his three films – Mirchi, Srimanthudu and Janatha Garage. If these reports are to be believed, then it will be interesting to see the kind of subject the film would have since Akhil’s debut film, an action subject, bombed at the office.
HELLO was praised for the action episodes and touching the emotions which probably were never seen before in Telugu cinema. Akhil was well lauded for his performance in the film and reviews suggested that Akhil has taken a giant leap in terms of acting when compared to his first film. While the audience feedback and critic reviews were filled with appraisals for Akhil and the film, the box office reports too seemed to be pleasing. HELLO also marked the debut of Kalyani Priyadarshan in acting and Telugu cinema, who is the daughter of popular Malayalam filmmaker Priyadarshan.
