Akkineni Nagarjuna: I was offered the role of Karna in Mohanlal's Mahabharata

King Akkineni Nagarjuna, as he is fondly called in Telugu film circles, is a busy man these days with multiple projects in his hand. He is producing Naga Chaitanya’s upcoming flick titled Rarandoi Veduka Chudam. Besides this, he also is a part of Raju Gari Gadhi 2 which is directed by Omkar, which also features his would-be daughter-in-law Samantha Ruth Prabhu. Speaking to the media before the release of Rarandoi Veduka Chudam, Nagarjuna spoke about a lot of things and revealed some interesting points.

A role in Mohanlal’s epic Mahabharata was offered to Nag and speaking about he said, “I worked with Sukumaran for an advertisement, so I know him. Vasudevan Nair is one of the best screenplay writers in the country and I read the book based on which this film is being made. They have approached me for the role of Karna, but I don’t know how long it will take for things to shape up. But one thing is for sure — whether it is a small or big role, it is important for the film.”

Nag also added that Chaitanya will tie the knot in October 2017 and spoke about Samantha Ruth Prabhu he said, “She used to call me sir during Manam. Now, she is calling me mama.

Throwing some light on the production of a film, Nagarjuna said that a producer has a great responsibility towards a film and should be able to drive it in the right direction. “The producer should create a positive environment and put everything on track. He should know what is happening on the sets and if somebody is doing something wrong, the producer has to direct them.”
