Director SS Rajamouli’s Baahubali 2 shattered all the possible records at the box office, not just in India but worldwide too. Baahubali 2 became the first Indian movie to cross the INR 1000 crore mark. The humongous film was also listed in all time top collecting films at the US box office. However, the recent developments suggest that there might be a film in the making which will surpass all these records.
After Mohanlal announced the Mahabharata on a whopping budget of INR 1000 crores, producer Madhu Mantena will now collaborate with Allu Arvind and jointly produce a film with Ramayana as the adaptation. The film will be made on a budget of INR 500 crores and will be shot in a 3D format. Also, the film will be in multiple languages in India.
The producers are looking to rope in top actors from all the industries to make it viable in all the industries. Speaking about it, producer Allu Arvind said, “To make a film like Ramayana, it is a social responsibility. I always felt that Ramayana should have been made into a bigger film so that the reach is larger. Hence, we decided to put a team together and work on this movie.“
“We are working the cast of the film. Our efforts are to get the best team onboard. We are looking at roping in technicians who can deliver quality which will be on par with Hollywood movies. Depending on the pre-production, we might kick start the film in September or October of this year. We will reveal further details as soon as things are finalised,” added Allu Arvind.
Looks like 2018 is going to be a very interesting year!
