When Chiranjeevi had announced his comeback in films after a hiatus of almost a decade, Bollywood Shahenshah Amitabh Bachchan had promised that he would do a cameo in his 150th film. However, due to his prior commitments and a packed schedule, Amitabh Bachchan could not allocate dates to Chiru’s 150th film resulting in the not being a part of the film.
Buzz in the industry is that Amitabh Bachchan has been approached by the makers of Chiranjeevi’s Uyyalawada for a brief role. “Amitabhji promised to share screen space with Chiranjeevi in his 150th film, but for some reasons, that did not materialise. So, the makers are planning to rope in the star for Chiru’s 151st film, if things work out. It all depends on Amitji’s dates,” a source was quoted in a leading daily.
Amitabh Bachchan had previously appeared in a cameo in Akkineni Nagarjuna’s Manam which had all the three generations of the Akkineni family in the cast. It is not clear yet if Amitabh Bachchan has given his nod for the film and an official confirmation is awaited regarding this.
Chiranjeevi’s 151st film will be based on one of the first freedom fighters Uyyalawada Narasimha Reddy. The film is being directed by Surender Reddy and the script is penned down by popular writer brothers of Telugu cinema, Paruchuri brothers. The film is being produced by Ram Charan under their home banner Konidela Productions which earlier produced Chiranjeevi’s 150th Khaidi No 150. The title of the film is yet to be finalised and the makers are considering many options for the title.
