Anushka Shetty reveals why she has not signed any film since ‘Baahubali 2’

In 2017, the elegant Anushka Shetty consolidated her position in the Telugu film industry when she delivered one solid performance in the magnum opus called ‘Baahubali 2’ and left fans asking for more. Everything about her act—right from her regal look to her spot on body language—seemed perfect and upped the film recall value in a big way. Moreover, her chemistry with her onscreen ‘Darling’ was quite crackling to say the least. During a recent chat with a leading website, the lady superstar said that the tremendous success attained by ‘Baahubali 2’ is yet to sink in and added that she will go down in history because of the film’s remarkable box office performance.

“I’m sure the success hasn’t sunk in yet for anyone in the team. We’re still in awe of the film’s success and the kind of reception it received. Having spent so much time on a project, it’s so motivating when we realize how difficult it is to come to terms with its success. Even after I’m gone, I’ll be part of the history, thanks to Baahubali. That fascinates me the most,” added Anushka.

Besides this, she spoke about her upcoming film ‘Bhaagamathie’  and said that—contrary to perception—it is completely different from her much-loved ‘Arundhati’ an is a contemporary story.

“I know whenever audiences see me wearing a sari and jewellery, they automatically imagine Arundhati. But Bhaagmathie is essentially a thriller and it has a very contemporary and unique story powered by good screenplay. It’s not a complex film but it has its high moments,” sh a.

Interestingly, Anushka has not signed any new film since the release of ‘Baahubali 2’ and this has left her fans a bit surprised. Explaining this, the lady said that she’s taking it slow as she is currently losing weight and recovering from injuries.

“I’m healing from some injuries, so I’m taking it slow. I’m also in the process of losing weight and it takes a while. I’ve been listening to a few scripts but nothing has quite fascinated me,” she added.

Well, we wish her good luck for ‘Bhaagamathie’ and hope that it finds success at the box office
