Anushka Shetty is beyond any doubt one of the most bankable and talented stars in the Telugu film industry today.  Last year, she gave strong proof of her abilities as a performer when she delivered a power-packed performance in ‘Baahubali 2 – The Conclusion’ and left fans asking for more. In the SS Rajamouli-directed epic drama, she essayed the role of the fearless Devasena and left us asking for more. Everything about her portrayal of Devasena—right from her body language to her chemistry with Prabhas seemed to be perfect and worked wonders for the film. Now, with ‘Baahubali 2’ in the rearview mirror, Anushka is gearing up for the release of ‘Bhaagamathie’. The film has already created quite a buzz amongst fans because of its shocking teaser and could turn out to be a hit upon release.

Now, it seems that the buzz surrounding the film is going to receive a shot in the arm. In an exciting development, the makers of ‘Bhaagamathie’ have released a new poster and helped Anushka’s fans start the year on a perfect note. In the poster, Anushka can be seen in a simple and mature avatar that she carries off like a boss. Her focused/serious expressions gel quite well with her look and up its recall value in a big way. That’s how you make an impact!

In case you were not aware, ‘Bhaagamathie’ has been directed by G Ashok and is slated to hit screens this Republic Day. In it, Anushka will be seen alongside Unni Mukundan and Aadhi. Sometime ago, the director had said that ‘Bhaagamathie’ is neither a period drama nor a biopic and cannot be put in to one particular genre.

“It’s neither a biopic or nor a period drama with fantasy elements. It’s a thriller, though I wouldn’t confine it to just one genre. There are a lot of other exciting factors too in the screenplay. We will reveal more information in the teaser. The shooting of Bhaagamathie was wrapped up in July, and the post-production is on in full swing since the film has a lot of visual effects. It’s a contemporary thriller,” he had added.

Interestingly, recently, an industry insider had said that the ‘Bhaagamathie’ trailer will be a treat for fans and will feature Anushka in a never-seen-before avatar.

“This is nothing like what you have seen Anushka Shetty do before. She is a revelation. The character she plays gives her ample scope to reveal her unseen side on the big screen. She will impress you and also give you goosebumps with her performance. To complement her, Bhaagamathie has a gripping story. Get ready to be awed,” the source had told a leading website.

On a related note, last year, Anushka had grabbed plenty of attention courtesy her rumoured affair with Prabhas. However, both stars had rubbished these reports an maintained that their was nothing between them. Speaking about the issue, T-town’s ‘Darling’ had saids that whnvr two actors work together more than once such rumours are bound to crop up.

“When we first worked together we had decided that at no cost we would allow rumours of our link-up float around. We have been film friends for nine years now. We are very good friends. We have known each other for years but I admit sometimes when such stories start doing the rounds, then I too start wondering if there is, indeed, something between us. We know that we are not romantically involved. By the way, this is nothing new — when an actress works with an actor in more than one film, then people tend to make them a pair,” Prabhas had told a daily.

So, did you like the new poster of ‘Bhaagamathie’?  Will Anushka be able to deliver the goods again? Comments, please!
