Since the release of the trailer of Baahubali 2, there have been no second thoughts about the film being on par with Hollywood flicks. The grandeur, graphics, attention to every detail and the team behind the making of the film makes Baahubali 2 a spectacular film at international level. The film has already shattered many box office records, not just in India, but also at global level. The pre-release business of Baahubali 2 is $3 million in the US alone. This shows the heights Baahubali 2 has reached.
Recent reports reveal the Baahubali 2 will not be dubbed into Japanese, a market which seldom witnesses any Indian film.
“Baahubali would now be dubbed into some important foreign languages. The first international language that the franchise will embrace is Japanese,” says a source close to the team that is working on the dubbed version.
In the past, the only Indian films that had a huge following was Rajinikanth’s films. Many of Rajini’s films were dubbed into Japanese and few were screened with subtitles. Baahubali 2 will be the second Indian film to be dubbed into Japanese. “We are not doing a subtitled Japanese version. We’re dubbing the movie in Japanese,” adds the source.
Rumours are also doing rounds that Baahubali 2 might also head to China and dubbed version of Chinese might also be on the cards. If this happens in the near future, Baahubali 2 will be setting new benchmarks which might take a long time to be achieved by any other Indian film.
