After Baahubali 2, Rana Daggubati to star in yet another big budget historical drama

If you are a fan of the handsome and much-loved Rana Daggubati then we have some awesome news in store for you. According to a leading website, the young actor has been roped in to star in noted filmmaker Gunasekar’s latest directorial venture. The film is likely to be shot on a grand scale and will be quite an expensive affair. In it, Rana is likely to the play the role of Hiranyakashipu. If this is indeed the case then Rana appears to have bagged quite a lucrative project indeed

In case you didn’t​ know, Rana was last seen in the epic drama ‘Baahubali 2’. Directed by SS Rajamouli, it revolved around the war between two brothers over an ancient kingdom. A sequel to the 2015 release ‘Baahubali’, the film hit screens this April and opened to a thunderous response at the ticket window.  In it, Rana played the role of the cruel antagonist Bhallaladeva and won hearts thanks to his crackling/believable chemistry with Prabhas.

At present, the 32-year-old is gearing up for the release of ‘Nene Raju Nene Mantri. It is a political-thriller and features Rana in the role of a politician.  Besides him, the film features Kajal Aggarwal and Catherine Tresa in the lead. Its teaser was released a while ago and created a buzz in the industry.

On a related note, Gunasekar’s last directorial venture was ‘Rudramadevi’. Released in 2015, It was a historical drama and featured Anushka Shetty in the titular role.
