Baahubali Director SS Rajamouli gets invited to Pakistan International Film Festival

Director SS Rajamouli is now a renowned name, not just in Indian cinema, but globally too. With the Baahubali series, Rajamouli is now termed as one of the finest filmmakers in the artform and is now one of the top filmmakers in the country. Baahubali has been screened at many International Film Festivals across the globe and the latest destination for the magnum opus is Pakistan. SS Rajamouli gets invited to the Pakistan International Film Festival and the filmmaker seems quite excited about it. Taking to Twitter, Rajamouli announced about this and wrote – “Baahubali has given me opportunities to travel to a number of countries… The most exciting of them all is now, Pakistan. Thank you Pakistan international film festival, Karachi for the invite.” With all the bitterness between the two nations in place, cinema keeps the ties between the nations warm and proves why the artform is bigger many things. Rajamouli did not mention thought whether he would be traveling to Pakistan but looking at his excitement, he certainly may travel.

Rajamouli has an exciting connection with Pakistan and something not many are aware of. Rajamouli’s father and writer of Baahubali, Vijayendra Prasad, has penned the story of Salmaan Khan starrer Bajrangi Bhaijaan that has Pakistan as its core element. Vijayendra Prasad had said in an interview during Baahubali that he always wanted to visit Pakistan once and explore places. And this invite from the Pakistan International Film Festival might be the chance for Vijayendra Prasad to make his dream come true.

Rajamouli is currently working on the pre-production works of his upcoming film which has two top stars of Telugu cinema – Jr NTR and Ram Charan – as the lead actors. The film was announced recently by the makers and is expected to go on shooting floors in August this year.
