Balakrishna: I feel that my allegiances have always been towards Tamil Nadu

The Tamil dubbed version of Nandamuri Balakrishna’s 100th film ‘Gautamiputra Satakarni’ is all set to hit screens soon and NBK is leaving no stone unturned to ensure that it creates a buzz amongst fans. During his recent visit to Chennai, the star delivered a speech in Tamil and spoke about his bond with Tamil Nadu.

“I am really happy to be in Chennai, as I was born and brought up here on Tamil soil only. I feel that my allegiances have always been towards this state,” he added.

He went on to say that love for one’s mother forms the basis of ‘Gautamiputra Satakari’. Moreover, he stressed that everyone can relate to this sentiment.

“Mother sentiment always works in any language and people can relate to this as it is based on our history. I feel I had my parents’ blessings to have worked in this film,” quipped NBK.

In case you did know, ‘Gautamiputra Satakarni’ is  a historical drama and has been directed by Krish. The original Telugu version hit screens this year and well at the box office. Besides NBK, it featured Shriya Saran and Hema Malini in the lead.

On a related note, NBK will next be seen in ‘Paisa Vasool’. The film has been directed by Puri Jagannath and also features Shriya in the lead. The film’s first look was released on Balakrishna’s birthday and created a buzz amongst fans.
