Audiences have been praising the makers and Anushka Shetty for her performance in the film. The film has now turned out to be a successful one and word of mouth is certainly spreading about it. The box office numbers also look very good for Bhaagamathie which released in Telugu and Malayalam worldwide. The first day in Telugu states saw Bhaagamathie earn a collections of approximately INR 8.1 crores while the Malayalam version hit the INR 3 crores mark on day 1. This is a huge number for a dubbed film in Malayalam and closest to Baahubali which had earned a collection of INR 11 crores on day 1 in Malayalam. At the overseas box office, Bhaagamathie had a decent run and clocked the $250,000 number at the end of day which includes the US box office collections too.
The film has been receiving decent reviews and the technicalities fo the film like the visuals, background score and the artwork are being commended by the audiences. Thaman SS, in particular, is being appreciated for an impactful background music which sends a chill down the spine. With such good collections and positive response from audience and critics, the makers and distributors of Bhaagagamthie will be a pretty happy group.
Anushka Shetty is one of the few actresses in South Indian cinema who has built an empire for herself in terms of following and admiration with performances and choice of roles in her career so far. It all started with ‘Arundhati’ which brought out the best of Anushka Shetty and left Telugu audiences totally flabbergasted. And her last film, ‘Baahubali’, had her playing a role (Devasena) which many actresses would be reeling to have it in on their resume as experience.
