Super Star Mahesh Babu’s Spyder is all set for release after both, Telugu and Tamil, versions cleared the censor formalities and managed to obtain a U/A certificate from the censor board. Spyder is directed by A.R.Murugadoss and is being produced by NV Prasad under the banner NVR Cinemas. Touted to be a stylish spy thriller, Spyder story revolves around the fight of an intelligence officer, played by Mahesh, against bio-terrorism driven by antagonist SJ Suryah and his partner Bharath Niwas.
Made on a huge budget, Spyder has already made a business of approximately INR 120 crores courtesy its pre-release hype. Satellite rights and theatrical rights both put together, Spyder has already earned the above said amount and predictions by experts are that the film might become the fastest bilingual film to gross INR 200 crores in South India. Probably it is for the first time that a bilingual film, in Telugu and Tamil, is being made and the buzz around the film is so high.
Industry experts are predicting that Spyder might beat the Srimanthudu’s record collections of INR 200 crores and might well become the fastest film in Mahesh’s career to do so. Srimanthudu is the only film in Mahesh Babu’s career to gross INR 200 crores at the box office worldwide and specualtions are that Spyder might become the second one to do so.
Prior to Srimanthudu, Dookudu which was released in 2011 was the highest grosser with INR 101 crores at box office worldwide. Spyder is releasing on September 27th, 2017 worldwide in Telugu and Tamil simultaneously.
