Cinema statisticians across the nation had predicted the Baahubali 2 will break tons of records but they did not expect it to be in such a fashion. What a normal film does in over 7-10 days, Baahubali 2 did it in 1 hour of opening of bookings. A popular ticketing app sold over 3 million tickets in 12 hours of opening the bookings. Their servers almost crashed only to be fixed at the last minute.
Many had even predicted that Baahubali 2 will be India’s first film to touch and cross the INR 1000 crore milestone and looks like this will happen sooner than expected. Baahubali 2 has already become the first Indian cinema to collect INR 100 crores on the first day of the release.
As per the closing report on first day, Baahubali 2 collected a whopping INR 45,00,00,000 in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana while in Tamil Nadu it raked in 14,00,00,000. In Karnataka, Baahubali touched the INR 10,00,00,000 mark and in Kerala it was at 4,00,00,000 at closing of the day. The Hindi version was at second highest after Telugu at INR 35,00,00,000.
