Box Office Report: Mahanati goes past $1 million in the US in just four days

Mahanati, the story of yesteryear legendary actor Savitri, released on May 9th, 2018 and has been on a roll since then. Directed by Nag Ashwin, Keerthy Suresh played the role of Savitri in the biopic while Dulquer Salmaan played the role of Gemini Ganesan in the film. Mahanati has been clocking great numbers at the box office too and within no time, the film went past $500,000 in the US. And now, Mahanati goes past $1 million in the US in less than a week of release. And with this feat, Mahanati becomes one of the rare Telugu films to go past the golden number of $1 million. In the Indian circuits, Mahanati has been doing well and the first four days saw the film clock approximately Rs.39 crores.

Samantha Akkineni, Naga Chaitanya, Vijay Deverakonda also plays important role in the film along with other celebrated actors from the southern film industry. Dani Sanchez-Lopez cranked the camera for Mahanati while the production design was handled by Shivam Rao. Kotagiri Venkateshwara Rao has handled the editing part of the film. The music of Mahanati is composed by Mickey J Meyer and has been receiving great response from all over.

Director Naga Ashwin and his team of technicians have put great effort in recreating the glorious period of Telugu Cinema on silver screen. Mahanati is all slated for worldwide grand release on May 9th. Speaking about Mahanati, director Nag Ashwin had said recently, “It’s a celebration of Savitri’s Life. Mahanati in Telugu (Nadigaiyar Thilagam in Tamil) is about the joy and a celebration of the great actor Savitri who ruled the hearts of millions then, now and forever. As a story teller and makers of the film we want people to appreciate her professional talent and being a beautiful mother and a family person, about her association with people who were part of her life from childhood to her passing away.”
