Actor, director and Prakash Raj recently voiced his opinion about the recent killing of journalist Gauri Lankesh and how disturbed he felt looking at celebrations of the murder on social media. Prakash Raj had said that he feels disturbed because the PM is silent on these issues and hasn’t spoken out or reacted to the whole incident. These remarks don’t seem to have gone down well with few people and now a case has been registered against Prakash Raj in a Lucknow court by a lawyer for speaking against Narendra Modi.

The court has given the date of hearing for the case against Prakash Raj as October 7th and will hear the petitioner’s complaint. Prakash Raj has, however, not reacted to this news so far. Prakash Raj had posted a video on his social media pages and gave a clarification about what he spoke and what he meant by saying he might give his National Awards to the PM.

I’m not a fool to return National Awards, says Prakash Raj clarifying his statement about Gauri Lankesh murder

I would like to own up to certain things. I was on a stage where I was addressing a group of youngsters and when there is a discussion about recent killings of Gauri Lankesh or Kalburgi or these sort of killings, and my reaction was that we don’t know who has killed them because there is a police department, there is an SIT which is looking into it. But we can see whose celebrating. And I am pained. I am taken aback by celebrations of an inhuman killing and for the very fact that I have vented out my pain, my anguish towards those people who are celebrating. I have been trolled, I have been used bad words. Ok it’s all in the game, I take it,” said Prakash Raj in the video posted on social media.
