SS Rajamouli-directed blockbuster film Baahubali 2: The Conclusion is on a record-breaking spree even after a year of the release. Not just the film but even the stars of the film have been taking away awards for their best performances.
The recent actor is Rana Daggubati, who has joined the list of winners of the prestigious Dada Saheb Phalke Excellence Awards this year which includes, Ranveer Singh, Shahid Kapoor, Rani Mukerji amongst others. Rana Daggubati bags ‘Best South Indian Actor ‘ for his performance in Baahubali 2. Dadasaheb Phalke Foundation will present the awards at a ceremony on 21 April 21 in Mumbai. The award is given to various individuals from the entertainment industry for their outstanding contribution to the growth and development of Indian cinema.
Its surely a proud and happy moment for the actor as Rana Daggubati’s two films- Baahubali 2: The Conclusion and Ghazi recently won at the 65th National Film Awards. Ghazi won the Best Telugu film award and Baahubali 2: The Conclusion bagged the Best Action-direction, Best Special Effects and Best Popular Film Providing Wholesome Entertainment.
As we all know the historic drama conquered all the box office records and made a whopping collection of over Rs 1000 crore worldwide. The film is still doing a great business in Japan.
Meanwhile, Rana has done the voice over for Thanos for the Telugu version of superhero film, Avengers: Infinity War. The film is based on The Avengers by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby and the screenplay for it has been penned by Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely. Avengers: Infinity War, a Superhero film is all set for the biggest release across the globe on April 27. The Marvel movie releases in Hindi, English, Tamil and Telugu. Well, post the Tamil Cinema Strike, Avengers: Infinity War is one of the biggest releases in Tamil Nadu and the makers are eyeing to recover the huge loss as it is one of the much-awaited films at the audience are looking forward to catching in the cinema halls.
