Legendary filmmaker Dasari Narayana Rao’s demise has shaken the Telugu film industry. Artists, directors, technicians and producers of Tollywood hail him for the kind of service he has given to the film industry. Many artists consider him as the godfather of Telugu cinema since he always stood by and supported people who had talent. He has the credit if introducing many new talents to Telugu cinema and encouraging them who now have become big stalwarts in the industry. Dasari Narayana Rao last directed a Telugu film with Manchu Vishnu which was titled Erra Bus, which had him play a role too.
According to emerging reports, the iconic filmmaker had plans to make a biopic on the ex-Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu Late J Jayalalithaa. Dasarai Narayana Rao even had the cast figured out and soon would have started his work on it. Baahubali actress Anushka Shetty was being considered to play the role of Jayalalithaa and the director wanted to meet the actress to discuss more the project.
“His plan was to make the film with Anushka, and he believed only she could pull off the role convincingly. It’s unfortunate that he passed away even before he could meet and pitch the idea to her,” a source was quoted in a leading daily.
The buzz in the industry is that Mohan Babu might work on this project now and dedicate it to Dasari Narayana Rao. “It hasn’t come to it yet. We can’t say that with absolute certainty. If he has any plans, I’m sure he will make them public,” the source quoted by the leading daily.
When this happens, this biopic will be biggest of all the films.
