According to a leading daily, Bollywood star Deepika Padukone may be roped in to play a character modelled on the late Sridevi in the eagerly-awaited NTR biopic. This will, however, be just a cameo. NTR and Sridevi did quite a few films together and made a good pair on the big screen. Perhaps that is why the makers are keen to include the character in the biopic. Confirming this, a source said the makers are keen to have DP onboard.

“The makers are approaching Deepika Padukone for Sridevi’s cameo role. NTR and Sridevi’s combination was a big hit and they had many popular songs. It’s a short role and they feel that Deepika is perfect for it,” added the source.
This is a developing situation and it will be worth watching what happens next. Interestingly, DP is not the only Bollywood star who has been approached for the film. Veteran Paresh Rawal and Bollywood beauty Vidya Balan have been approached to play characters modeled on Bhaskara Rao and NTR’s wife, respectively.
The NTR biopic features Balakrishna in the titular role and is being directed by Teja. At its launch event, the director had said that he was thrilled about getting the opportunity to tell the former Andhra CM’s life story on the big screen.
“Everybody knows I’m a huge fan of NTR. I consider myself extremely lucky to have landed this opportunity. I’ll try and give my best efforts. NTR’s story is so vast; it’d take six films to encompass everything in it. We’ve tried to encapsulate everything into one film and I hope we will do justice. We’re targeting Dussehra festival release,” he had said.
The NTR biopic is arguably one of the biggest Telugu films in recent times and we hope that it lives up to these high expectations
