There can be no denying that the recently released trailer of Allu Arjun’s ‘Duvvada Jagannadam’ has created quite a buzz in the film industry thanks to its gripping presentation and Bunny’s new avatar. Moreover, it has also grabbed eyeballs as it comes across as a perfect blend of action and entertainment.
Interestingly, some fans have stated that the trailer reminds them of Shankar’s yesteryear film ‘Gentlemen’. According to reports, a member of the DJ team cleared the air on this and said that DJ is an original film and not a remake/copy of ‘Gentleman’.
“We haven’t revealed fully what Allu Arjun does in the movie. Allu Arjun’s character will be a surprise,” the source added.
Moreover, the source added that that the only similarity between the two films is that in both cases the hero works in the catering profession.
For the uninitiated, ‘Gentleman’ is regarded as one of the finest films of Shankar’s career. Touted to be a vigilante-heist film, it features Arjun and Madhoo in the lead. It was later remade in Hindi by Mahesh Bhatt. The Bollywood remake starred Chiranjeevi and Juhi Chawla in the lead.
As far as DJ is concerned, it is touted to be a romantic-comedy and also features Pooja Hegde in the lead. Directed by Harish Shankar it recently ran into trouble when the Brahmin community objected to the lyrics of a song. However, the matter got sorted out after producer Dil Raju edited the said song. If all goes as planned, DJ will hit screens later this month.
