February 2016 release ‘Krishna Gadi Veera Prema Gadha‘ saw a new face enter the Telugu film industry, Mehreen Pirzada, who impressed the viewers immensely with her cute looks and acting skills. As ‘Mahalakshmi‘ in the film, the actress struck a chord with the Telugu viewers and also caught the attention of filmmakers from other South Indian languages. And as luck would have it, Mehreen is on a roll at the present moment. With her latest release, ‘Mahanubhavudu‘, turning out to be such a hit, Mehreen Pirzada has a bunch of movies up her sleeve which she is very confident of.
In an exclusive conversation with Pinkvilla South, Mehreen Pirzada talks about working in Ravi Teja’s ‘Raja The Great‘ and why ‘Mahanubhavudu‘ is a special film for her. Here are few excerpts from the interview:
Your role in ‘Raja The Great’ seems quite interesting.
I play a girl called Lucky in ‘Raja The Great’. And the whole story revolves around her life. Lucky is very depressed in life and feels that her life is meaningless. She feels that she has nothing to look forward to in life until Ravi Teja’s character, the blind man enters her life. He lights up her life and adds colour to her life. She finds that urge to live after she meets him.
You are sharing screen space with Ravi Teja, an actor who has a huge mass following and vast experience.
It was amazing to work with him. He is always very positive and energetic. Despite being in the industry for such a long time, he still has the same energy and excitement every single day like one would have on the first day of shoot. I just love his attitude towards work and life, and he is very inspiring.
You have multiple releases in the next few weeks.
This is the kind of lifestyle everyone works hard and prays for, and it feels amazing experiencing it. I’m one of the few actresses who has about four releases in such a short span and I hope this just continues.
How was it working with director Anil Ravipudi?
I’m really thankful to Anil Ravipudi and Ravi Teja sir for being very supportive to me throughout. The only challenge I felt was my role which had different emotions. I always felt acting is all about reacting to situations. When you have such amazing actors around you in a film, it becomes easier and everything happens in a flow. But yeah, Anil Ravipudi sir was very supportive throughout.
‘Raja The Great’ has a heavy star cast.
I felt like a baby while shooting for ‘Raja The Great’ because there were so many big actors in the cast – Ravi Teja sir, Prakash Raj sir, Radhika ma’m and Tanikella Bharani garu. I feel blessed to have worked with all these big actors. All these actors loved me and pampered me a lot on the sets while shooting, and I share great bonding with each and every one. Everyone used to share few tips with me in acting which really helped me and get better as an actor.
How does it feel to be part of a successful film like ‘Mahnubhavudu’?
I feel blessed to be part of ‘Mahanubhavudu‘ which has become such a hit now, which is only my second release in Telugu. There were high expectations on me after ‘Krishna Gadi Peera Prema Gadha‘ and I’m glad I could live up to those expectations with ‘Mahanubhavudu‘. And I’m confident about ‘Raja The Great’ too, and I think it is going to be a hat-trick hit for me…(Laughs).
