Rana Daggubati tasted success, again, with his latest release Nene Raju Nene Mantri which was directed by Teja and also featured Kajal Aggarwal as the leading lady. The film was produced by his own production house Suresh Productions jointly with CH Bharath Chowdhary and V Kiran Reddy under Blue Planet Entertainments. Rana will now try his hands on digital platforms and appear in a web series which is titled SOCIAL. SOCIAL will also feature Priya Banerjee and Naveen Kasturia in important roles, besides Rana Daggubati.
Speaking exclusively to Pinkvilla South, Rana spoke about his role in SOCIAL and other related things. “Creatively I had very less input into that. I had worked with director of SOCIAL, Shashi, before and it’s all his work and effort. Beauty of digital is its one platform for everyone. You don’t have to fight for theatres (Laughs). Anyone who decides to tell a story can just upload it. It’s basically a free-flowing platform. I got to know so much about web and digital media while shooting for the web series. It was great fun,” said Rana Daggubati.
Rana also spoke about his upcoming film which will be based on a soldier who fought in the INA during the period of Subhash Chandra Bose. Speaking about it, Rana said, “Right now, I’m shooting for a film set in 1945. It’s a story about a soldier who fought in the INA regiment of Subhas Chandra Bose. It’s set in a turmoil kind of situation after the Tamil moves to South East Asia and Telugu moved to Burma. It’s being shot in Telugu and Tamil, a bilingual. It is being directed by Sathya Sivan.”
