With a hattrick of hits up her sleeve in 2018, Samantha Akkineni is currently shooting for the Tamil-Telugu bilingual remake of Kannada film U-Turn. Directed by Pawan Kumar, U-Turn in Kannada starred Shraddha Srinath and was one of the bigger hits in 2016. The remaketoo is being directed by Pawan Kumar and Samantha would be seen playing the journo in the film. The shooting of the film is under way at brisk pace in and around Hyderabad. The makers are now canning important scenes at a police station set built at a top studio in Hyderabad. And according to latest reports, the first look and title poster of the film may soon be unveiled by the makers. Besides Samantha Akkineni, U-Turn remakes also stars Aadhi Pinisetty, Rahul Ravindran and Bhumika Chawla in pivotal roles.
The makers are yet to title the remakes and are considering to retain the same. Samantha Akkineni will be playing the journalist in the film who tries investigate and write a story for her publication but instead gets trapped in the whole situation. Speaking about the film, director Pawan Kumar had said recently, “U-Turn is a film on a universal subject that goes beyond the qualms of language and culture which has been a reason why it is being remade in both Tamil and Telugu with confidence. Since it is also a supernatural thriller it is being dealt carefully. We began shooting last month and have finished the first schedule and we’re well on our way with second schedule started in Special set erected in Booth Bungalow. The cast comprises of Samantha, Aadhi and Rahul Ravindran in vital roles while camera cranked by Niketh Bommi. Additionally, we have actor Naren playing a crucial role as well as Bhumika Chawla who comes in as the surprise element in the movie.”
