Playing an antagonist in South Indian film industry is not an easy task and takes a lot from the actors. Bollywood actors like Sonu Sood, Pradeep Rawat, Sayaji Shinde and Mukesh Rishi have carved a niche for themselves in South Indian film industries, especially in Telugu. Another promising actor from Bollywood actor who is making a foray into Telugu is Freddy Daruwala.
Freddy played the antagonist in Akshay Kumar-A.R.Murugadoss Bollywood hit Holiday. He was appreciated for his performance and was flooded with offers from many industries.
Freddy Daruwala is making his debut in Telugu with Touch Chesi Chudu which features Mass Maharaja Ravi Teja. Touch Chesi Chudu is being directed by debutant Vikram Sirikonda. Speaking to leading daily about his choice to move down South, Freddy says, “I couldn’t be happier about my southern debut. I’m a huge fan of southern cinema because their films are what we can call paisa vasool entertainers. Be it action or drama or colourful songs, you have everything in southern cinema.“
Freddy Daruwala will be playing the antagonist in Ravi Teja’s film which will start rolling from May 2017. Speaking about how he got the opportunity Freddy said, “Director Vikram saw my work in Holiday – A Soldier is Never off Duty and felt I would be apt for the character. When he narrated the story, I really liked my character which has various shades.“
Speaking about his role in Touch Chesi Chudu the model-turned-actor said, “It’s not just about physical power. There is a political power too. You might find my role predictable, but I will essay it differently and make it stand out.“
Touch Chesi Chudu features Raashi Khanna and Pragya Jaiswal as the female lead roles.
