The makers of the Vijay Deverakonda starrer Geetha Govindham recently launched second song of the film titled, ‘What The F’. Vijay himself has crooned the song and the lyrics are quite catchy. While some have liked Vijay’s efforts of trying his hands on singing, many have slammed the song over some controversial lyrics. This made the makers pull down the song from YouTube.
At the recently held audio launch event of the film in Hyderabad, Vijay Deverakonda spoke about withdrawing the song from YouTube as he feels there’s no need for the song to be played if it is offending anyone.
“I don’t think we meant to hurt anyone’s sentiments. It was just meant to be a fun song, and not meant to make any statement. The song is not vital to the film. We could change the lyrics,” the actor said at the recent event that saw Allu Arjun as the chief guest.
“When I was targeted for swearing in Arjun Reddy and when people said the kisses were obscene, I fought back because I thought they were vital to the film. But now since a few women’s organizations and some religious factions have objected (to the song), I’d be glad to remove it.”
Vijay Deverakonda and Rashmika Mandanna starrer is directed by Parasuram. Expectations are obviously high since the film is releasing right after the super hit Srirasthu Shubhamastu. Producer Bunny Vass is bankrolling the project under GA2 Pictures Banner with Allu Aravind presenting it. Geetha Govindam audio will be launched grandly on 29th of this month. They are planning to release the movie on August 15th for Independence Day.
Vijay Deverakonda is currently shooting for his Tamil debut NOTA which is being directed by Anand Shankar and produced by KE Gnanavelraja. The film will be a Tamil-Telugu bilingual and stars Mehreen PIrzada as the leading lady.
On the other hand, Rashmika Mandanna is shooting for the multi-starrer featuring Nani and Akkineni Nagarjuna in the lead roles. Rashmika is paired up opposite Nani in the film and will be her second film in Telugu after Chalo. The multi-starrer is being directed by Sriram Aditya.
