During a recent interaction with NTV, actress Sridevi opened up rejecting Baahubali and said that rumours of her demanding Rs 10 crores for the role of Sivagami were completely baseless.
“There are rumours that I asked about Rs 10 crore for the role, including an entire floor in a hotel and 10 flight tickets etc. I have been in the industry for about 50 years and acted in more than 300 films. Do you think I could have accomplished all of this by making such demands?,” she added.
Sridevi went on to state that she was deeply by how SS Rajamouli spoke about her during one of his interviews and felt heartbroken because of his comments.
“I saw a Rajamouli interview and I was shocked and hurt by it. I have heard about Rajamouli, he is a calm and dignified person. I have seen his movie Eega and was very happy to work with him. He is a great technician but the way he spoke about the issue made me feel very sad,”she said
In case you did not know, sometime ago, SS Rajamouli ruffled a few feathers when he said that the Baahubali team was ‘lucky’ that Sridevi had turned down the offer. Interestingly, the Sivagami character was ultimately essayed by Ramya Krishnan who received rave reviews for her performance.
On a related note, Sridevi is currently gearing up for the release of her Hindi film ‘Mom’. In it, she will be seen alongside Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Akshaye Khanna.
