Keerthy Suresh to go through a transformation for Savitri biopic ‘Mahanati’?

News has it that the actress has completed the portions for the biopic in which legendary actress Savitri looks young.

Actress Keerthy Suresh, who was last seen in Nenu Local alongside Natural Star Nani, is currently shooting for two films in Telugu simultaneously – untitled film with Pawan Kalyan directed by Trivikram Srinivas and biopic on legendary actress Savitri titled Mahanati directed by Nag Ashwin. The actress is currently in Hyderabad juggling between the sets of these two films. Reports are doing rounds in film circles that Keerthy Suresh will go through a transformation for the biopic Mahanati and gain some weight to look like the iconic actress Savitri when she was at the peak of her career.

Keerthy has already started shooting. She is currently shooting the portion where Savitri was a youngster. She is required to gain weight to play Savitri in her prime when she had serious weight issues but was still loved by audiences,” a source close to the film circle was quoted in a leading daily.

A picture of Keerthy Suresh from the shooting spot of Mahanati was doing rounds on social media in which she appeared like the younger Savitri.

Directed by Nag Aswhin, who earlier directed Yevade Subramaniam, the film is the most watched out for in South Indian cinema since it is a biopic on an legendary actress. “It’ll be a magnum opus period film set in the golden era. With massive set pieces, the film will be unlike anything we’ve explored in Indian cinema,” the director had said in a recent interview.

The makers of Mahanti are being tight-lipped regarding the cast and crew of the film, and are trying to keep any news related to the film under the wraps.
