The lovely Keerthy Suresh is arguably one of the busiest stars in the Southern film industry today. And, at present, she has several films in her kitty. One of them is the ‘Mahanati’ which is based on the life of yesteryear actress Savitri. During a recent chat with a leading news agency, the lovely lady said that the film is quite a challenge as Savitri was a terrific actress who had an expressive face and bold eyes. She went on to add that she has over 100 costume changes in the biopic.
“I cannot use my imagination and have to be completely in her shoes. She was a person who would give 100 expressions in 10 seconds. The way her bold eyes and her lips express an emotion — it is impractical to replicate her precisely. But I wanted to give my best. I have more than 100 costumes (changes) in this film. Savitri’s appearance also changes with age in the film, so we had to go in for a makeover at each stage,” added Keerthy.
She also revealed that as most people know Savitri through her onscreen performances, she really has her job cut out for her.
“90% of the audience only knows Savitri through her onscreen image. To bring out that difference was the tough part. It’s been a genuinely challenging experience to play Savitri,” added the actress.
Well, we wish Keerthy good luck and hope that ‘Mahanati’ does well at the box office. So, are you excited about the film? Comments, please!
