Mahanati, the biopic on yesteryear actor Savitri, released on May 9th, 2018 and has been having a great run since the first day. Directed by Nag Ashwin, Mahanati has Keerthy Suresh playing the titular role while Dulquer Salmaan was seen playing her husband and actor Gemini Ganesan. Mahanati turned out to be a blockbuster hit in India and in international markets as well. And now, Mahanati went past $2 million in the US market making it the fourth film after Baahubali and Rangasthalam to achieve that number.
