Rana Daggubati clarifies about doing a film with director VV Vinayak

After the Telugu film industry was jolted by the drugs menace, many top Tollywood stars have voice doubt their opinion against drugs and have urged that drugs need to be eradicated completely from the roots. One of the stars who has spoken for the first time about the drugs case is Baahubali actor Rana Daggubati. Rana says what’s worrying him is kids doing drugs and wants the officials to address that immediately.

The dangerous story about school kids doing drugs worries me. That’s something that needs to be taken more seriously and addressed immediately. When youngsters who don’t have a mind of their own are doing drugs, it scares me,” Rana recently said.

Rana also feels that the whole situation has been blown out of proportion and could have been handled better. “Honestly, the whole thing has been blown out of proportion. If a filmmaker or an actor takes drugs, it really doesn’t bother me. They are adults and it’s their lives and they can do whatever they want. I don’t give a damn if you take drugs,” added Rana.

Earlier, the Telangana Excise Department officials arrested one Calvin Mascarenhas who is said to be supplying drugs to the Telugu film industry. After interrogating Calvin for few days, officials are said to have found his links with few celebrities which included Puri Jagannadh, Ravi Teja, Charmme Kaur and Navdeep.

The Special Investigation Team (SIT) of the Telangana Excise Department served notices to these celebrities from Tollywood along with few other who have appeared before the officials for questioning over the last few days.

If drunk driving bothers you then drugs consumption should also bother you. Drugs destroy families, communities and whole nations. China’s opium wars, the horrifying conditions in Punjab, South American Narco gang wars should be a lesson.

What’s ironic is that the guy who played a person whose girlfriend is killed because of the drug trade (Dum Maaro Dum) says taking drugs is an adult’s personal decision. Makes me wonder about the rumors about his involvement….
