2016 Kannada super-hit film Kirik Party is being remade in Telugu as Kirrak Party with actor Nikhil in the lead role and is hitting the screens worldwide today. The original in Kannada, Kirik Party, was a tremendous success and redefined the storytelling pattern in Kannada films. The story of Kirik Party was written by Rakshit Shetty with his team, The Seven Odds, and was directed by Rakshit’s brother, Rishab Shetty. Kirik Party scaled unbelievable heights in Kannada industry which probably even the makers might not have expected it to. Kirik Party also marked the debut of actor Rashmika Mandanna who was impressive with not just her girl-next-door looks, but also with her performance. And now with the Telugu remake, Kirrak Party, hitting the screens today, expectations on it would be to fetch a similar success as the original in Kannada.

Kirrak Party stars Nikhil Siddhartha, Simran Pareenja and Samyukta Hegde in the lead roles while actors like Hemant and Rakendu Mouli will be seen playing important roles in it. While Rakshit Shetty and Rashmika Mandanna stole the show in Kannada with their striking chemistry and impressive performances, it will be interesting to be see how Nikhil and Simran fare in their respective roles. Nikhil, who is a flawless actor, seems to be the apt choice for the role played by Rakshit Shetty in the original. We haven’t seen Simran Pareenja previously in Telugu films, and hence, it could be called unfair to judge her capabilities at this juncture.

The remake is directed by Sharan Kopishetty while the dialogues are penned by Chandoo Mondeti and the screenplay is written by Sudheer Varma. Chandoo and Sudheer were brought onboard the remake to make the subtle changes which were required to make the script and story more viable to the Telugu audiences. With the kind of hype the film has been receiving, looks like Kirrak Party is well on its way to a super success.

The cast and crew of Kirrak Party has been touring colleges across the Telugu states to promote the film since the story is set in the backdrop of engineering and college life. This has created a buzz around the film and the openings for the film on release, today, seem to be pretty overwhelming. Kirrak Party is being produced by Anil Sunkara under the banner AK Entertainments.
