A few days ago, noted director Koratala Siva found himself in the news for all the wrong reasons when upcoming actor Sri Reddy leaked some ‘romantic chats’ with him, on social media. This created a buzz in the industry and left his fans shocked. During a recent interview with the Telugu media, the director was asked a question about the issue. And, not surprisingly, he chose to skip it. He said that he will address the allegations later as he is currently focussing on his upcoming film, Bharat Ane Nenu.
In case you did not know, Sri Reddy has been quite vocal about the ‘exploitation’ of local girls in Tollywood. A few days ago, she had stripped in public and tried to draw attention towards the situation. During her strip protest, she had said that producers take advantage of local girls and then refuse to give them work. She had also said that she would continue her protests till the situation improved.
“They see the (intimate)videos and give no roles. They have even asked for live nude videos from me. That is the extent to which they go to take advantage of women who seek role. They give roles to actresses imported from Mumbai or others places, whereas we local girls are only sexually exploited on the promise of being given roles,” she had said.
Following her bold act, Sri Reddy was denied a MAA membership which is mandatory for working in Telugu films. She was also asked to vacate her rented accommodation. However, her MAA membership was restored after the NHRC got involved and asked the Telangana government why it was not trying to address her complaints.
On a related note, Bharat Ane Nenu is touted to be a drama and will see Mahesh Babu play the role of a CM.
