Last Friday saw three films lock horns at the box office and tussle it out and all the three were big releases in Tollywood. Nene Raju Nene Mantri starring Rana Daggubati, LIE starring Nithiin and Jaya Janaki Nayaka staring Bellamkonda Sreenivas hit the screens the same day, August 11th, but surprised everyone with the numbers that they clocked at the box office. While Nene Raju Nene Mantri had an upper hand, LIE and Jaya Janaki Nayaka made some decent numbers.
LIE had slow openings but picked up gradually over the weekend and is now going steady at the box office. Speaking about the film actor Nithiin says that he and director Hanu Raghavapudi were a bit dejected. “On the first day, the film opened to mixed talk in India. Hanu and I were dejected. We were not sure what went wrong and we felt our hard work for the last one year went down the drain,” Nithiin said.
Nithiin was all praise for Action Kind Arjun and said the film was possible only because of him. “I thank him (Arjun) for accepting the villain’s role. If not for him, ‘Lie’ wouldn’t have been possible,” Nithiin added. Talking about his experience of working on the film, Nithiin added, “LIE has been a great journey. After the success of A..Aa, I could have chosen an easy film. But I wanted to do something new and that’s why I took the tough route.” Besides Nithiin, LIE features Megha Akash in the female lead role.
