Arjun Kapoor and Alia Bhatt starrer 2 States is now being remade in Telugu which will have Adivi Sesh and Shivani Rajasekhar in the lead roles. Shivani, who is the daughter of veteran actor Rajasekhar, will be making her debut in films with this film. The film is yet to be titled and will be directed by debutante Venkat Reddy who is said to be an erstwhile associate of ace filmmaker V.V.Vinayak. The shooting of the film will begin from end of March and the makers are looking to release it sometime just before the end of this year, sources reveal. And according to latest reports, the Telugu remake of 2 States may have few veteran actors making a comeback in films. Emerging reports reveal that yesteryear Bollywood hit film Maine Pyar Kiya actor Bhagyashree will be making a comeback in films with this remake. Bhagyashree will be seen reprising the role played by Revathy, Alia’s mother, in the original.
In an official statement released by the makers, it is confirmed that Bhagyashree will be donning the role played by Revathy and the shooting will commence soon. It was earlier being reported Akkineni Naga Chaitanya would be playing the lead role, however reports now confirm that Adivi Sesh has given his go ahead and will soon start shooting for it. “A completely new team has come together for the film. Debutant Venkat Reddy, who was associated with V.V. Vinayak for several years, has been roped in to helm the film, while Midhun Chaitanya and Madhu Srinivas are working on the film’s screenplay. Sesh will be cast as a Telugu boy who falls in love with a North Indian girl. The team plans to begin shooting sometime in late February or early March,” a source close to the actor had recently said. And it is being said that he is also actively involving in the pre-production work of the Telugu remake of 2 States.
