Manmadhudu 2: Naga Chaitanya or Akhil Akkineni-Who will play the lead role?

Akkineni Nagarjuna starrer Manmadhudu, a 2002 rom-com, was a huge hit at the Box Office and now reportedly, the sequel of the film is in talks. Manmadhudu 2, the crazy sequel to Nagarjuna’s 2002 blockbuster is quite a talk of the town. Nagarjuna, who had bankrolled the venture under his home banner Annapurna Studios, has reportedly registered the title Manmadhudu 2. Ever since the news of the film’s sequel is doing rounds, moviegoers have been speculating on who will play the lead role in the film.

According to the latest buss, it is being said that the film may star either Naga Chaitanya or Akhil Akkineni. However, there has been no official confirmation regarding the same. In the other news, it is being said Rahul Ravindran, who made his directorial debut with Chi La Sow, has been approached to direct the film. Rahul Ravindran will be directing Nag in Manmadhudu 2, however, confirmed details are awaited.

Manmadhudu was directed by Vijaya Bhaskar and dialogues were penned by the ace director Trivikram Srinivas. The film starred Sonali Bendre opposite Nag with the star cast also including Anshu, Chandra Mohan, Tanikella Bharani, Brahmanandam, Dharmavarapu Subramanyam and Sunil in supporting roles.

Meanwhile, Nag jas geared up for his next multi-starrer film titled, Devadas. Devadas will have Nani playing Das and Nagarjuna playing Deva, combining it to be the title. Nani will be seen playing a doctor while Nagarjuna will be seen playing a don in the plot.

It was earlier being reported that the film is possibly a remake of Bollywood film Johnny Gaddar starring Neil Nitin Mukesh. However, director Sriram Aditya clarified that the film is a new subject and not a remake of any film. Clarifying all this confusion, director Sriram Aditya took to Twitter and cleared all the air around the film.
