The recently busted racket in the US which has connections with the Tollywood casting couch is giving a lot of heat to many actresses who wish to travel to the US. Reportedly, immigration officials at many US airports have been notified about this and many celebrities, especially female actors, who have been traveling to the US have been pulled up by the US immigration officials for further questioning at the airports. And the same happened with Mehreen Pirzada who was recently in the US on a holiday. Mehreen was briefly questioned by the officials in the Immigration Department and news spread soon about this. It was being reported in the media that Mehreen was questioned for several hours and many search activities took place. However, lashing out all those reports, Mehreen has issued a statement clearing all the air around the questioning done in connection with the Tollywood casting couch case busted in the US.

Once in for all I’m stating the facts as to what happened with me in USA. I was traveling with my family from Vancouver to Las Vegas for a weekend holiday. When I was going through immigration, on finding out that I am an actress in the Telugu Movie Industry, I was questioned by the US Border officials as to the reason why I was traveling in the United States. The officials then told me about the scandal which was the fiurst that I heard about it. On finding out that I have nothing to with the said issue, the officials apologized to me and let travel without any further problems. I came out publicly regarding the incident for the sake of propriety as I felt it’s best that I make a statement before anyone else assumes otherwise,” Mehreen wrote in a statement posted on social networking pages.
