According to a noted trade analyst, Nandamuri Kalyan Ram-Kajal Aggarwal starrer MLA has fared well on day 2 and managed to collect Rs 3.5 crore at the box office. Its 2-day gross stands at Rs 9 crore. Moreover, the trade report for day 3 too is quite positive. All in all, MLA is on its way to becoming a success.
In case you did not know, MLA is a commercial entertainer and has been directed by writer-turned-director Upendra Madhav. It marks NKR’s first release since the commercially unsuccessful ISM. A few days ago, while chatting with the media, he had said that MLA is not a political drama but politics is an important subplot.
“It’s not a hardcore political drama. Politics is merely used as a sub-plot. It starts as a love story and along the way, the hero does something and realises he made a mistake, then solves the problem. The film addresses a problem that’s very common in every household,” he had added.
Similarly, while talking about her character in MLA, Kajal had said that it was an ‘interesting’ one.
“You’re not sure till the interval, what is she doing and what are the reasons behind her doing certain things. It is an interesting character,” she had told a daily.
Interestingly, MLA also has Ravi Kishan in a key role and it is an important release for him.
With MLA in theatres, NKR will turn his attention to Naa Nuvve, It is a musical drama and will see him act opposite T-town’s ‘Milky Beauty’ Tamannaah. At present, Kajal has Paris Paris in her kitty. It is a remake of the Bollywood hit Queen and will see her act essay Kangana Ranaut’s role from the Hindi version. A while ago, she had said that this is going to a difficult film for her.
