MLA Tweet Review: This Kalyan Ram-Kajal Aggarwal starrer is worth a watch

Nearly two years after the release of the commercially unsuccessful ISM, actor Kalyan Ram is all set to entertain fans with his latest release MLA. And, judging the twitter reactions, most movie goers/celebs seemed to have liked this commercial entertainer. Its emotional climax and NKR’s new avatar seems to have won hearts. Fans have also liked Kalyan Ram’s chemistry with the lovely Kajal Aggarwal. All in all, the consensus is that MLA deserves a watch.

In case you did not know, MLA has been directed by writer-turned-filmmaker Upendra Madhav and touches upon some aspects of village politics. While speaking about the film, NKR had said that it is not a political drama but has politics as an important subplot of its narrative.

“It’s not a hardcore political drama. Politics is merely used as a sub-plot. It starts as a love story and along the way, the hero does something and realises he made a mistake, then solves the problem. The film addresses a problem that’s very common in every household,” he had added.

He had also made it clear that the film’s USP lies in its ‘genuine’ presentation.

“The USP of the film is how genuine it is in addressing the problem it tackles. We may have taken our liberty in songs and fight sequences but the core of the film is very genuine which is what really impressed me about the script,” he had said.

Interestingly, Ravi Kishan—who is best known for his roles in films like Kick 2—plays the antagonist in MLA. During an exclusive chat with Pinkvilla(South), he recently said that his character is quite different from anything he has done in the past.

Given the decent buzz and limited competition from new releases, MLA could do well at the box office.
So, will you be watching MLA? Comments, please!
