Aditi Rao Hydari will be making her debut in Telugu cinema with Sammohanam which is being directed by Mohankrishna Indraganti and also stars Sudheer Babu in the lead role. Said to be a rom-com, Sammohanam is majorly shot in Hyderabad and the hilly areas of Shimla and Himachal. The makers have wrapped up the shooting of Sammohanam and the film will now head towards post-production stage. The makers have also now released few pictures from the shooting spots of Sammohanam in which Sudheer Babu and Aditi Rao Hydari share a terrific chemistry. The makers are yet to confirm the release date of Sammohanam which is expected to be announced in the near future.
Sammohanam will be Aditi Rao Hydari’s first Telugu film and the Padmaavat actor is quite kicked about the project. Speaking about it recently, Aditi had said, “I’m really pleased with the way my career is shaping up. How many actresses get a chance to work with legends like Mani Ratnam and Sanjay Leela Bhansali? In fact, Mohan Krishna Indraganti liked my performance in Mani sir’s Kaatru Veliyidai (Cheliyaa in Telugu) and was keen on casting me in his next film. All of Mohan sir’s films have strong female characterisations. So it’s a privilege to be making my debut in Telugu with his film.”
Not many are aware that Aditi Rao Hydari made her acting debut with a Malayalam film titled Prajapathi in 2006 before venturing into Bollywood. Aditi even acted in a Tamil film titled Srinagaram in 2007 before making it big in Tamil with last years’ Mani Ratnam directorial Kaatru Veliyidai. “Good cinema has no regional or linguistic boundaries. I consider myself as a director’s actor, so I’m open to work with filmmakers from across the country and even abroad. No artiste wants to be boxed. We thrive on challenging roles and they can come from anywhere. I consider myself blessed to be recognised as a pan-Indian actor. Yes, it means more hard work, prepping more for the roles but I’m all for it,” Aditi Rao Hydari added further.
