There can be no denying that 2017 was a memorable year for young actor Naga Chaitanya. In October, he tied the knot with good friend and noted actor Samantha Akkineni and added a new dimension to his life. The wedding was a grand affair and created quite a buzz in T-town. Since then, he has been enjoying his wifey’s company and giving us relationship goals. Now, it seems that 2018 will be an equally special year for Chay. According to a leading daily, the actor has agreed to essay a character based on his granddad and Tollywood icon ANR in the eagerly awaited Savitri biopic Mahanati. Confirming this, a source said that Chay has allocated two days for the film.
“He has agreed to allot two days, March 14 and 15, to shoot the important scenes,” added a source.
ANR and Savitri made a good pair on the big screen and always managed to impress fans with their chemistry. Their most notable films are Devadas and Mayabazaar. Given ANR’s legendary status, this is going to be a prestigious role for him. Interestingly, NTR too will be a part of the biopic. However, the former Andhra CM will be brought back to life on the big screen digitally.
In case you did not know, Mahanati is an Ashwin Nag directorial and will see Keerthy Suresh essay a character modeled on Savitri. Actor Dulquer Salmaan is also a part of the cast and will be playing a character modelled on Gemini Ganesan. A while ago, he had said that he will not be mimicking ‘Kadhal Mannan’ on the big screen.
“I’m not going to look like him. I can’t, honestly, and I don’t want to wear prosthetic. My approach is simple. I would like to be me in the 1950s and play myself if I was a big movie star. I don’t think I should attempt to play Gemini Ganesan, and the director also agreed. You don’t really have any off-screen footage of him. You don’t know what kind of person he was off screen,” he had told a leading website.
So, are you excited about Mahanati? Comments, please!
