Kannada film industry witnessed the release of few interesting films in 2017 which includes the likes of Shiavrajkumar’s Muft, Ganesh’s Chamak and Puneeth Rajkumar’s Raajakumara. Mufti was one of the most impacting films and fans of Shivanna loved the new look of the actor in the film which was a crime thriller and also starred Sri Murli. Directed by Narthan, Mufti was one of the biggest releases in 2017 in Kannada and made some decent amount at the box office. Reports are doing rounds that Mufti maybe remade in Telugu and the discussions are underway at the present moment. It is also being reported that mass actor Nandamuri Balakrishna may reprise the role played by Shiva Rajkumar in the original and soon an announcement may be made.
If these reports are to be believed, then it will be exciting to see if the makers will make any changes to script in Telugu or retain the original as is. Balakrishna begun 2018 with Jai Simha which was directed by KS Ravi Kumar. An action thriller, Jai SImha had a decent run in theatres having released alongside big films like Agnyaathavaasi.
Produced by Jayanna and Bhogendra, Mufti is directed by Narthan and will be the first time that the actors Shiva Rajkumar and Sri Muralli will be collaborating. Mufti also stars Shanvi Srivastava in an important role besides Shivanna and Sri Muralii.
Balakrishna is also busy with the biopic on his father, veteran actor N.T.Rama Rao which is being directed by Teja. The biopic is titled NTR and will have Balakrishna playing the lead role. The shooting of the film is slated to begin on March 29th, 2018 and the first schedule will have important scenes involving Balakrishna himself. More details about the film are yet to be revealed by the makers and an announcement is expected to be made on March 29.
