According to reports, Nani’s much-loved ‘Ninnu Kori’ may soon be remade in Bollywood by Sanjay Leela Bhansali. Apparently, writer Kona Venkat has already initiated talks with Bhansali and things are on track. Commenting on the development, a source confirmed that the maverick Bollywood director had actually watched ‘Ninnu Kori’ before its release and liked it a lot.
“Before the release, Sanjay had contacted the team because he heard that the film’s script was similar to that of Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam. However, the doubt was cleared and he ended up liking the story line of the film. After release, he watched the film and was all the more impressed,” added the source.
Interestingly, at this point, it is not clear whether the producers of the Telugu version will be associated with the Hindi remake. However, a call on this will be taken pretty soon. Well, this is an exciting development and we hope that the Hindi remake does well at the box office.
In case you did not know, ‘Ninnu Kori’ is a romantic drama and has been directed by Shiva Nirvana. Besides Nani, it also features Nivetha Thomas and Aadhi Pinisetty in the lead. Prior to its release, Nani had said that it is a film without a hero.
“There’s no hero in the film either! It’s possible that both of them will be remembered more than me, post release. My confidence on the film is because of director Siva’s honesty and sincerity when he talks about the film. The emotion he felt for the story made me believe that it will work,” he had added.
