Nayanthara’s Aramm to be released in Telugu as Karthavyam

Nayanthara’s last year Tamil release Aramm is now being released in Telugu as Karthavyam. Earlier it was being said that the film may be remade however, the makers opted to release it as a dubbed version given the market Nayanthara has in Telugu as well. Directed by Gopi Nainar, Karthavyam touches the issues that rural areas face in terms of irrigation and agriculture. Aramm was a terrific hit in Tamil and Nayanthara was hugely appreciated for her intense performance. And the makers are hoping that Karthavyam too would receive a similar response. Karthavyam is being produced and marketed in Telugu by Sharrat Marrar in Telugu under the banner Northstar Entertainment. Nayanthara has a huge following in Telugu as well since she has acted in a lot of Telugu movies. Nayanthara was last seen in Jai Simha alongside Nandamuri Balakrishna and played his love interest in the film. And with huge following, the makers would be hoping to receive a similar response to what Aramm had received.

Aramm was well appreciated by critics, filmmakers, actors and common audiences for the way it was handled. Nayanthara was commended for accepting a subject which was hardly known in the film industry earlier. Director of Karthavyam, Gopi Nainar, during the release of Aramm had said that Nayanthara had supported a lot during the making of the film and it was her efforts which yielded the positive results. Producer, KJ Rajesh, had said that Karthavyam (Aramm in Tamil) will have Nayanthara in every frame and will be the actor’s show all the way. “The film is socially relevant and is based on a real-life incident, but it is more of an edge-of-the-seat thriller. Nayanthara is there in every frame and we are riding on her box-office power to bring in the family audiences,” Rajesh had told a leading daily in an interview.
