Noted Telugu actor Gundu Hanumanth Rao passes away due to prolonged illness

Popular Telugu comic actor Gundu Hanumanth Rao passed away today, Monday, in the wee hours at his residence in Hyderabad. The actor said to be have been going through a treatment for an illness he has been suffering for a long time now. Gundu Hanumanth Rao was recently admitted in the hospital and was being treated for an ailment, according to reports. Rao was known for his comic roles in Telugu cinema and has been acting since 1980s. Gundu Hanumanth Rao received financial help from megastar Chiranjeevi recently when he learnt that the comic actor was facing financial hardship for even his medical treatment. Gundu Hanumanth Rao breathed his last on Monday, 19th February 2018, at his residence. Many Telugu film personalities and celebrities have expressed their condolences and will visit the actor’s residence in Hyderabad today to pay respects to him.

Gundu Hanumanth Rao acted in many hit Telugu films like Ahaana Pellanta, Mayalodu, Yamaleela, Pekata Papa Rao and Rajendrudu Gajendrudu. Gundu Hanumanth Rao has acted in more than 100 films in Telugu and has also acted in few television soaps including the famous Amrutham. Gundu Hanumanth Rao was last seen in the Telugu film Sri Sai Sankalpam which released in 2016 and hadn’t done well. Gundu Hanumanth Rao shot to fame with his role as a hearing-impaired person in Ahaana Pellanta starring Rajendra Prasad which was directed by Jandhyala and also starred popular actors like Kota Srinivas Rao, Veerabhadra Rao and Nutan Prasad. Rao was known for his impeccable comic timing and method acting which he learnt during his theatre days in coastal Andhra Pradesh during his younger days.

The final rites of Gundu Hanumanth Rao is expected to performed today in Hyderabad and an official confirmation would soon be made. Gundu Hanumanth Rao has been receiving support from Move Artists Association(MAA) lately due to his financial situation.
