Telugu cinema will witness quite a few biopics, this year, on few legendary actors. There is a film in the making on the yesteryear actress Savitri which is titled ‘Mahanati’ and has Keerthy Suresh in the lead role. And recently, a biopic on one of the biggest actors in South Indian cinema – Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao – was launched and shooting is currently under progress. The film is being directed by Teja and is being produced by actor Nandamuri Balakrishna. Latest reports reveal that the film will reveal only the highlights of his life and not completely. The makers of the film are currently in talks with numerous actors for few important roles in the biopic. And according to latest reports, actress Nadiya has been approached to play the role of India’s first woman Prime Minister Indira Gandhi in the film and discussions are currently in progress at the present moment.
“It’s a crucial role since there is quite a lot of political interaction and dialogue between Indira and NTR. The makers are keen to cast someone who’s not just a performer but also a stylish personality since she needs to recreate the aura of Indira on screen. Nadiya seems like one of the best options available to the team,” a source close to the makers was quoted in a report by DC. It would require an actor with great screen presence to pull of a role like Indira Gandhi.
Balakrishna will be seen playing his father, Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao, in the biopic which is slated to be released by end of this year. The makers are in talks with many actors for the biopic and soon an announcement would be made regarding this. There were many speculations regarding the film and a while ago, Balakrishna cleared all the air and said that he will be making the biopic soon.
