Actor-producer Akkineni Nagarjuna and Ram Gopal Varma have joined for a film after more than 2 decades now. The film is said to be an action-thriller and will have Nagarjuna playing a cop. The shooting of the film is currently under way in Mumbai and action scenes involving Nagarjuna are being shot. Nagarjuna posted a nostalgic message on Twitter handle today about the cult classic Shiva which released in 1989 and was a game changer in Telugu cinema back then in every sense. With never-seen-before camera angles and sound technology, everything was new and fresh about Shiva. And the best part about the film is the impact it had on film lovers of that generation who consider the film to be a cult classic. And 29 years later, Nagarjuna recalls the film today and posted a nostalgic message on Twitter handle. “feb 16 1989…29 years ago today I started the game changer cult film SHIVA with @RGVzoomin!!! It’s time to rock again with #NagRGV4 ,” wrote Nagarjuna on his Twitter handle. Shiva was truly a path-breaking film in every sense and is considered as a reference and inspiration to many filmmakers of today’s age.

Talking about Nagarjuna’s film with Akkineni Nagarjuna which is yet to be titled, the film is slated to be released sometime in March but the makers are yet to confirm the release date. Both, Nagarjuna and Ram Gopal Varma, seem quite confident about the film and had said that the film will turn out to be a good one. “Like he narrated the story of ‘Shiva’ to me, Ram Gopal Varma narrated a brilliant story to me recently. I was taken aback by the story,” Nagarjuna had said. Since Nagarjuna is known for picking the right subjects, his trust in RGV this time around indicates that there something exciting in store for Telugu audience.
