Sanjay Dutt will be seen playing the role played by Sai Kumar in the original while Ali Fazal would be seen reprising Sharwanand’s role. Deva Katta recently said that they had made slight changes to the script but have retained the soul of the story. “The soul and drama in the film will be the same as the original. However, we have made a few changes keeping the Hindi audience in mind. This film will be more realistic and trendy, and will be in sync with films that are being made in Bollywood,” Deva Katta had said.
The Bollywood remake too is being directed by Deva Katta himself who had made the original. Deva Katta also says that the remake is happening because of Sanjay Dutt and the actor hadn’t forgotten the word he had given to him. “It was in 2011 that Sanjay Dutt first watched Prasthanam. He loved it so much that he approached me himself for the Hindi remake. Cut to 2018, the film is finally ready to go on floors,” Deva Katta had said.
